If you need help when we are closed
If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.
NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.
Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
Royal Arsenal Medical Centre is well-served by various public transport options, facilitating easy access to and from the area.
Train Services:
- Woolwich Arsenal Station: Approximately a 5-minute walk from 21 Arsenal Way, this station offers both National Rail and Docklands Light Railway (DLR) services.
- Bus Services:
- Several bus routes have stops within a short walking distance of 21 Arsenal Way, offering connections to various parts of London:
- Routes: 51, 53, 54, 96, 99, 122, 161, 177, 180, 244, 291, 301, 380, 422, 469 and 472.
- River Services:
- Woolwich Ferry South Pier: Located approximately a 16-minute walk from 21 Arsenal Way, providing river crossings between Woolwich and North Woolwich.

An interpreting service is provided if required, please ask at reception. We also have the language line installed.
Out of Hours and Emergencies
111 is the NHS non-emergency number. It’s fast, easy and free. Call 111 and speak to a highly trained adviser, supported by healthcare professionals. They will ask you a series of questions to assess your symptoms and immediately direct you to the best medical care for you.
NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.
In case of a life-threatening emergency, please dial 999.
Practice Accessibility
All patient areas are on the ground floor and there are disabled toilet facilities. There is a limited parking facility for disabled patients at the front of the building. Please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any special difficulties or requirements when visiting the Centre.
Urgent Care Centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital
The unit treats patients with less serious injuries that are not critical or life-threatening but still require urgent attention. The UCC does not have an appointment system – it is a walk-in service.

Enhanced Access
Royal Arsenal Medical Centre offers enhanced access appointments at the following times:
Tuesday mornings before 08:00 AM
Thursday evenings after 6:30 PM
Saturdays between 09:30 AM and 12:30 PM
These are pre-bookable and limited number of appointments. Please check with reception for availability.
