Application for Whom It May Concern / Support Letters

Please be aware that we do not issue letters during appointments, all applications for letters must be made in writing / via accurx admin request.

It may take up to 28 working days to process your letter.

All reports are written entirely at the doctor’s discretion and some requests may be refused.

Please note a request from the third party will need the patients formal consent. We will only complete factual responses. We are not able to give an opinion. If in doubt we will refuse to complete the request and may issue a copy of medical records instead with your consent.

According to guidance from NHS England and the British Medical Association (BMA), GP’s are not contractually obligated to provide letters or reports for purposes such as:

  • Blue badge application
  • Housing or benefits appeals
  • Employer-related documentation
  • Legal or court related letter

Please be aware that many letters, form filling requests and reports are not part of NHS services. Please see the ‘Why does my doctor charge fees?’ page on the BMA website for more information.
